Wine Chat: Tour of Italy – Sangiovese and Chianti

Over the following weeks at wine chat we’ll be doing an Italian tour, and taking a deep dive into the regions and their grapes. We’ll also be looking at the growing ‘Alternative Varital’ scene in Australia and which Italian grapes are making waves on our shores.
This week we’re taking a look at Sangiovese and the Chianti region. As always we are joined by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee
Wine of the Week
2024, Unico Zelo ‘Pastafarian’ Sangiovese, Clare Valley S.A.
The unofficial wine for the Church of the F.S.M, this sangiovese is the perfect match for dinner any night of the week. Bursting with crunchy red fruits and savoury herbs its a delicious lighter alcohol example of what makes the variety great. Could cellar for another 5 years, but why wait!
