Wine Chat: Rosé
As the weather warms up, we transition from rich heavy reds, to lighter bodied pinot’s, into chilled reds and now finally in November it is Rosé season. This week on wine chat we look at what makes Rosé such an exciting and dynamic wine style, and why it is so delicious. To discuss all this and more we are joined as always by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee
Wine of the Week
2023 Geyer Wine Co. ‘Noir Blanc’ Grenache, Barossa Valley, S.A.
Cal says: Representing the extreme of Rose production, Noir Blanc is a white wine made from red grapes. Brilliant acidity paired with a richness of mouthfeel this wine exhibits a structure closer to champagne than a typical rose. Would pair beautifully with fresh seafood, or soft cheeses but will happily stand on its own two feet. Could benefit from some aging but I’ve yet to encounter any wines of this style with serious bottle age.
