Wayne’s 4×2 – 21 August 2025: Golden Caravan, Fallout and more

With a soggy weekend coming up, if you need some entertainment but are too damp to deal with the endless options on your streaming services, Wayne Massingham is here to save you. Check out his recommendations for this week in film, music, and television.
Film: The Life of Chuck
Adapted from the 2020 novella by Stephen King, this fantasy drama is a life-affirming, genre-bending story.
It follows three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz (Tom Hiddleston), with the twist of being told in reverse chronological order.
The Life of Chuck is in cinemas now. Watch the trailer here.
TV Series: The Agency
This American spy thriller television series is a remake of the acclaimed French series, The Bureau, and has just been renewed for a second season.
Covert agent ‘Martian’, played by Michael Fassbender, is ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. A past love unexpectedly reappears, pitting his mission and his real identity against his heart, and hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.
The Agency is available on Paramount+.
TV Series: Fallout
Based on one of the greatest video games of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world where there’s almost nothing left to have.
200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them above.
Fallout is available on Prime.
Album: Golden Caravan by Clifford
This is the second album from the Boston quartet Clifford, with lead singer Miles Chandler writing all the songs. It’s a great melodic guitar album, filled with no-frills straight edged indie rock.
Golden Caravan is available at Bandcamp.
