Film: The Shrouds
David Cronenberg’s newest film is The Shrouds. This film takes place in a world similar to our own, but with a technology that allows one to see the decaying body of their buried loved one. Cronenberg continues to experiment with the capabilities of technology with his iconic body-horror to explore grief and mortality in the modern world. It stars Diane Kruger, Vincent Cassel, Sandrine Holt, and Australia’s own Guy Pearce.
The Shrouds is in cinemas now. Watch the trailer here.
Television Show: Big Boys
The British three-season series, Big Boys, follows Jack and Dylan as they forge an unlikely friendship at university. This coming-of-age show explores queerness, grief, and mental health challenges in a sitcom fashion, evoking both warm-hearted and bittersweet emotions.

Television Show: Joan
This miniseries is based on the real life events of British diamond thief, Joan Hannington. We see initially see Joan in an abusive marriage with a criminal. When her husband disappears to evade the police, she takes this opportunity to start a new life for herself and her daughter. Sophie Turner embodies Joan as we slowly discover why and how she became a notorious burglar.
