Despite laws against illicit trade in nicotine vapes introduced in 2024, consumers have turned to black-market outlets, buying imported low-cost vapes re-sold at high mark ups.
Twenty percent of the Australian population have used a vape at least once in 2023, prompting calls for tougher border controls and a stronger public health campaign.
