Unravelling ‘Interior Delirium’ with Solo Career

The debut LP ‘Interior Delirium’ from South Coast based bedroom pop artist Solo Career sees songwriter and producer Annabel Blackman expand upon 2021’s ‘The Sentimentalist’, incorporating the trademark blips and bloops of Blackman’s DIY sound with scratchy guitar tones and quaint drum machines. The nine tracks carefully balance slow druggy songs like Neo Soul Jazz Afternoon with more bouncy new wave sounding hits like Spring Drills and Beta and creates a playful lo-fi world toying with the absurdity’s of identity and the performances we put for others and ourselves.

Annabel joined Mitch Lumsden on Reverie to chat about the album’s creation, her process and influences in song writing and much more!

Interior Delirium’ is out now on Dinosaur City Records via vinyl or digital download and you can catch Solo Career live at The Curtin in Naarm/Melbourne on July 18 supporting Lost Animal by grabbing a ticket here.
