Tjaka release their first EP, ‘Elevate’

Brisbane/Meanjin trio ‘Tjaka’ (pronounced ‘Chaka’) have a new EP out, where they fuse elements of jungle, rock, hip hop and combine it with a nod to first nations music, instruments and techniques (including a Didjeribone, a sort of slide didjeridoo). 2/3 of Tjaka Jake and Felix, called in on Drive to help explain themselves, their musical influences and where the band is headed next.

 

Tjaka play  La La La’s, Wollongong tonight (June 27) and Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 28th June.
