The New Monuments Hitting Sydney Streets
There’s some new public art hitting the streets New Monumental is a new project commisioned by Scape and curated by Vital Commons. attempts to redefine monumental art in a way that represents our current moment in time. It features 3 local and culturally diverse artists in Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Reko Rennie, and Monica Rani Rudhar expressing the nature of Australia’s growing and ever-changing cultural landscape. We’re joined by a cofounder of Vital Commons, Bethan Donnelly for a deeper look into the project.
If you want to check out the monuments that are already installed, you can head over to Scape Kingsford, and Todman Square Kensington. The final piece of the trilogy will be installed at Scape Lachlan in late 2025.
