The Materials that Won the Nobel Prize: Deanna D’Alessandro on Metal-Organic Frameworks and the work of Australian Nobel Laureate Richard Robson – 2SER Breakfast

This year’s Nobel Laureates were just announced and guess what!
One of them is the Australian chemist at the University of Melbourne, Richard Robson, who won the Nobel prize of Chemistry based on their work on Metal-Organic Frameworks (or MOFs), alongside Omar M. Yagui and Susumu Kitagawa.
What are MOFs you may ask? How did they win the Nobel? And why are they so important?
Deanna D’Alessandro, Chemistry and Biomolecular engineering professor at the University of Sydney, Academic director of the Net Zero institute and leader of a research team focusing on the Metal-Organic Frameworks joined 2SER Breakfast to explain the significance of this Nobel-Winning work, how it was first developed, and the potential for MOFs to make the world a better place.
