The King and I – Roger Knox on 2SER Breakfast

Roger Knox is the Koori King of Country.

A proud Gomeroi man, Roger’s musical experiences span decades, from singing gospel in church choirs as a child to touring with his family band Euraba. His contributions to Australian music have earned widespread recognition, including the Jimmy Little Award for Lifetime Achievement, induction into the National Indigenous Music Awards Hall of Fame and the Tamworth Country Music Galaxy of Stars, and NAIDOC National Artist of the Year honours.

Now in his 70s, Roger is writing and recording his own songs for the first time, as part of his new record Buluunarbi and the Old North Star.

In anticipation of local shows, Roger joined 2SER Breakfast to chat about his life and career.

You can catch Roger on Saturday 12 July at the Campbelltown Arts Centre and on Sunday 13th July at the Petersham Bowling Club.
