The European Union demands we drop Fetta and Prosecco names

The European Union is pressing Australia to adopt its proposed “geographical indications” system to protect the names of European goods. It has pinpointed 170 food names and 236 spirit names that Australia should forfeit, including Feta and prosecco.
Additionally, it aims to reserve the names prosecco and parmesan solely for producers based in Europe.
