Sydney’s Northern Beaches to global success: Ocean Alley’s impact on emerging bands

Up-and-coming band Scoot the Loot and Australian music giants Ocean Alley, both hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, discuss their musical journeys on 2SER.

Max Lush, Will Sides, Toby Jones and Blake Lacey from Scoot the Loot

Ocean Alley is a band you’ve almost definitely heard of before. They started out jamming in a backyard shed, playing at small local venues and now they’ve gone global — touring the world off the back of their brand-new album Love Balloon.

Taking inspiration from Ocean Alley’s success, Scoot the Loot is an emerging band, also from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, who are still in the early days of building a name.

Angus Goodwin & Mitch Galbraith from Ocean Alley

Monday Daily’s William Prott and Eva Greifeneder spoke with Ocean Alley’s Angus Goodwin and Mitch Galbraith, along with Scoot the Loot’s Toby Jones, Max Lush, Will Sides and Blake Lacey.

Ocean Alley is coming to Sydney in late January 2026, with more information and ticket sales at http://oceanalley.com.au
