A US startup wants to bring sunlight to Earth after dark, using satellites equipped with giant mirrors to beam reflected sunlight down to solar farms.

It’s an idea that could revolutionise renewable energy, or it could raise big questions about light pollution, wildlife, and the ethics of engineering in our night sky.

In this interview, Michael Brown, Associate Professor in Astronomy at Monash University, joins 2SER to speak about the science, ambition, and whether we really want ‘sunlight on demand’.
