South Australia’s algal bloom issue

If you didn’t already know, South Australia is currently experiencing a rapid increase in the population of algae on their beaches, otherwise known as an algal bloom. This is proving to be catastrophic for several reasons, causing numerous issues for both the local marine life and the people of South Australia. This ecological issue, which has parked itself off the coast of South Australia, has sparked orders to stay out of the water, as marine scientists push to find a solution to the issue. We had Shauna Murray, a marine biologist from the University of Technology Sydney, come and speak on the issue.
