New Music with Steph Liong

First out the gate in New Music this week is Liz Brasher with Painted Image, showing her gospel roots and the Memphis-inspired Delta Blues through her unique blend of R&B, reflecting her rich creativity with the strong influences of her upbringing and current hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

Next up is Outer Peace by Toro y Moi, a moniker through which Chaz Bear releases a variety of chillwave drawing a broad range of inspiration from the tropics to French legends Daft Punk and Beyond. Infectious beats will have your head bopping in seconds.

Finally is Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? by Deerhunter. Initially said to be a sci-fi album about the present, the album features reflections on current realities and politics in a well-arranged, enjoyable fashion co-produced by Cate Le Bon.
