Nathan Harrison’s “Birdsong of Tomorrow”

In Australia, we are constantly surrounded by birds, their beautiful songs, their calls, gentle chirps in the trees… Yet so often, these sounds fade into the background of our busy lives…
The captivating theatre production, Birdsong of Tomorrow, invites us to slow down, listen, and rediscover the beauty of nature’s soundtrack. Playwright Nathan Harrison, both a theatre-maker and an avid birdwatcher, has written a playful performance that blends science, storytelling, music and video. The production examines our rapidly changing environment and considers what birds might sing when humanity is gone.
Having begun this project in 2021 as a Griffin Studio Artist, Harrison now has an all-star team that includes Emma McManus (Merrigong’s Sorry Sorry Sorry), Tom Hogan (Adult Fantasy), and Solomon Thomas (re: group’s POV).
Whether you’re a keen birdwatcher, nature lover, or an avid theatre goer, you won’t want to miss this production!
Catch Birdsong of Tomorrow at Old Fitz Theatre in Woolloomooloo from August 21st to September 6th.
Nathan Harrison joined Monday Daily’s, Eva Greifeneder, in the studio to discuss his passion for birdwatching and theatre…
