Mark Temple: Music Made From Artificial DNA Sequences

Imagine DNA, the very code of life, being transformed into a melody…
Blending music with science, Synthetic Compositions: Music Made From Artificial DNA Sequences comes to life at the Sydney Opera House on August 12.
This one-of-a-kind performance fuses molecular biology with modular synthesis, creating a sonic journey through synthetic DNA… Sounding a bit complex?
Don’t stress! The evening kicks off with a discussion on how DNA can be converted into music, before expanding into a series of live performances, building from solo musical sets to the final ensemble, ultimately translating synthetic DNA into sound.
Musician and academic Mark Temple, along with his project The Biological Exploding DNA Sequence Inevitable, will perform Synthetic Compositions live next Tuesday as part of National Science Week.
Mark Temple, from Western Sydney University’s School of Science, sat down with Monday Daily host, Eva Greifeneder, to chat about the upcoming event.
