Is Music Lost?

The music industry is constantly in a state of flux. Many say that we are coming to the end of an era for recording artists and live music. It has been proclaimed by some that music is dead. However, with the introduction to online streaming platforms, the music industry’s annual income has reached a substantially high growth rate. Professor Richard Vella, Professor of Music in the School of Creative Arts at the Newcastle University Conservatorium joined The Daily to discuss how music has developed from live performances and recording artists to online streaming, through the introduction to the digital age.
