In recent years, private investment in fusion technology has accelerated dramatically, with over 10 billion US dollars committed by venture capital firms, sovereign funds and tech entrepreneurs.
What is the promise? A future of a plenty amount of carbon-free energy. But the challenge is that there is no fusion reactor that has yet produced more energy than it consumes.
