First Nations Fashion: Culture, Resistance, Identity and Connection

First Nations fashion is more than just a style; it’s a living expression of culture, resistance, identity and connection.

From everyday items like hoodies and badges to cultural garments worn at marches and NAIDOC events, Indigenous fashion is reshaping the Australian fashion landscape on its own terms.

Dr Treena Clark, Chancellor’s Indigenous Research Fellow at the Faculty of Design and Society at the University of Technology Sydney, joins to help explore the how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people use clothing and adornment to share stories, honour heritage, and protest ongoing justice.
