First Nation voices within the archives – Jazz Money on “Winhanganha” at 2SER

Back in 2023. the Australian National Film and Sound archive commissioned Wiradjuri artist Jazz Money to make a film using the first nations footage at the archive. The result? Winhanganha, a wonderful and occasionally horrifying lyrical exploration of the archival history of First Nations Australians in the country as well as the ways in which these stories have been modified, told or ignored throughout the years.
Today at 2SER Breakfast we’ve got filmmaker Jazz Money herself to talk to us about her insights on the footage used, film and its making, reclaiming these once either obscured or modified storylines and getting the general public to examine First Nation history in greater depth.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to watch the film itself and see Jazz Money in person this Thursday 26th of June at 6:30pm, Fred Hutley Hall!
Jazz Money is also releasing her first children’s book “Frog’s First Song” in the upcoming weeks, the pre-order is available right now.
