A Direction Home :: 10 May 2025 – FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND

On Wednesday I was shocked to hear that Paris Pompor was gone. Wonderful DJ, producer, presenter of radio and film, and a tireless supporter of artists. Much-loved across many communities. What a great conversationalist, so encouraging, filled with such light, cheeky humour and glow.
I did not know him well, but tracked him from early GrooveScooter days, Eastside FM presenting, Golden Age hosted films, and spotting him at so many shows.
When I read of his death I was stunned shocked so sad. I was also taken aback to see that we were born in the same year. Paris landed on this planet a couple of months before me. As I approach the same birthday, it made me wonder what’s he’s made of all the happenings – year by year.
My heart goes out to Georgie, his close friends and family.
