Ted Heath was an British trombone player and band leader who played from the 1920s to the 1960s. His 1950s orchestra is considered the greatest ever British big band. As a piece of trivia, the Sydney jazz quartet 'Ted Heath Goes Latin' was the first band The Phantom Dancer recorded when the show hosted live bands like James Morrison and Ian Date in 1985-86.
