Dance in the Dark for Merana Aboriginal Community Association

Switch Off & Groove is hosting an event this Friday to raise money for Merana Aboriginal Community Association for the Hawkesbury.
The dance events switch off the lights, allowing people to let loose without fear of judgment. Participants get to dance to an eclectic playlist, ensuring there is no boring moment. The event will bring a fun, non-judgmental community space to the Hawksbury.
This Friday, Switch Off & Groove will raise money for Merana. The organisation assists the Hawksbury First Nations community with services, programs, cultural activities, special events and advocacy. To coincide with this, the event will exclusively play music from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
Monday Daily Producer Amy Hosking spoke with Switch Off & Groove organiser Stacey Papdi about what to expect from the event and the importance of Merana.
The Switch Off & Groove NAIDOC fundraiser will take place this Friday from 7 to 8 pm at Freemans Reach School of Arts. Tickets are available on Humanitix.
