Yo Ho Ho! Hoist the main sails and fetch me the horizon! Bonny & Read is a new Australian musical based on real female pirates of the 1700s.

It’s a story about a cut-throat female pirate, Captain Anne Bonny who sails alongside Calico Jack. They capture Mary Read on their ship, however the captured Reed, turns into captivated Reed, and they end up all working together.

Bonny & Read: A New Musical features 10 original songs by Australian Playwrights Emily Whiting and Aiden Smith, alongside Ben James, with an all Australian cast.

It explores love, identity and finding your place in a world you never thought possible.

Playing at the Loading Dock Theatre in Darlinghurst from 29th October till 8th November, writer and producer Emily Whiting stopped by the studio for a chat with Danny Chifley on 2SER Breakfast.
