Australian defence spending under focus following NATO commitment

This week at the 2025 Hague NATO summit, member states of the military alliance announced they will annually invest five per cent of their GDP for defence and security purposes by 2035.
So why have NATO countries decided to increase spending? And will this decision have any impact for Australia?
