Ancient voyagers brought rice across 2,300km of Pacific Ocean
The south-west Pacific was the last part of the globe settled by humans, in epic sea journeys just 5,000 to 6,000 years ago.
Now, the discovery of ancient rice in a cave on Guam has revealed more about where these people came from, and how they lived their lives.
Mike T. Carson is Professor of Archaeology from the Micronesian Area Research Center, at the University of Guam, USA, and he joined us on the Thursday Daily this morning.
