Interview with JOANNA bassist Terry Lloyd

If you could have a second chance with the band you were in as a teenager, would you take it?

Joanna members Terry Lloyd (bass), Neil Holliday (vocals), Tyrone Holt (guitar) and Carl Alty (drums) went their separate ways in the early 1990s following unsuccessful attempts to get a record deal. They did, however, make a great demo tape and it was lost in storage until recently.

Hello Flower (released December 5th) is straight out of the groove-rock era of the Madchester scene in the late ’80s/ early ’90s but also sounds so contemporary and fresh with the rawness of Holliday’s vocals. This is youth personified: a group of working-class kids and their mad dream in their ever-vibrant hometown of Manchester.

Monday Daily’s Lorna MacRitchie chatted to bassist Terry Lloyd about this epic album and its 35 year wait.
