Film: Twinless

Twinless (2025) is the debut feature by actor, writer, and director James Sweeney. It follows Dennis, played by Sweeney, who forms a friendship with Roman in a support group for twins who have lost their sibling. This dark comedy grapples with grief, relationships, and emotional turmoil, taking some unexpected turns.

Television: Ridley Road

This BBC historical drama explores the rise of British fascism in the 1960s through the lens of a young Jewish woman. Vivien leaves for London when her family says that it’s time to marry a Jewish man, residing with her uncle who is part of the antifascist movement. It is a four-part limited series of hour-long episodes.

Film: The Mastermind 

Kelly Reichardt returns with another quiet yet sensational film, The Mastermind (2025). A slow-paced character study on a jobless father who decides to rob an art gallery to provide for his children. It stars Josh O’Conner, Alana Haim, Gabby Hoffman, and returning favourite, John Magaro. Critics love Reichardt’s slow-burning but deeply detailed take on a crime thriller.

Album: Belong – Jay Som   

Belong is the fourth album by American artist, Jay Som. Melinda Duterte is the creative visionary behind stage persona, Jay Som. With six years between this newest release and her last album, she had been busy playing in live bands, and recording and producing collaborative projects. This solo album adopts the conventions of pop, departing from the edgy sounds that marked her previous works. This album features many collaborators including Paramore’s front-woman, Hayley Williams.
