Wine Chat: Halliday Wine Companion 2026

The Halliday Wine companion is “the definitive guide to Australian wine”. Every year they seek to score and review all the important wines in the country, resulting in a score for most wineries in Australia. To take us through the awards, reviews and a brief history of the publication we are joined by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee

Wine of the Week

2024, Vickery ‘Polish Hill River’ Riesling, Clare Valley N.S.W.

Made by Keeda Zilm, who continues to make wines in the John Vickery way, this Riesling is a masterclass in fruit intensity balanced with freshness and acidity. Classic notes of citrus blossoms, Bickford’s cordial with a high frequency minerality. Drink now but will happily cellar for over 10 years, great pairing with fresh seafood, warm sunshine, and good company.
