Film: Eddington
Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar, Beau is Afraid) is back with a new movie! The film – described as a Neo-Western – is set in May of 2020 in a small town, where a conservative sherrif (Joaquin Phoenix) and a lockdown supporting mayor (Pedro Pascal) butt heads just in time for re-election, with the whole town coming to blows.

Television: Adolesence
This British TV sensation created fear over teen slang, emojis and the Manosphere. The show – with each episode shot in a single take – follows a typical British family as their 13 year old son is accused of murdering a fellow teenage girl. Investigations reveal the son’s insecurities and subsequent collapse into the Manosphere, while his family deals with the backlash from home.

Televsion: Where’s Wanda?
A black comedy German language show that follows two parents looking for their missing daughter. This results in them taking matters into their own hands by spying on their neighbours, leading them to discover a variety of dark secrets surrounding their small town, many of which have nothing to do with their daughter’s whereabouts.

Album: Strange Love – Bleak Squad
Strange Love is the debut album of this Melbourne based supergroup comprised of Adalita from Magic Dirt, Mick Harvey from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Mick Turner from Dirty Three and Marty Brown from Art of Fighting. The album is dark and brooding, with Adalita doing most of the vocals, and was recorded in Melbourne. If you liked the bands that these members were a part of, you’ll love Bleak Squad’s Strange Love.
