First Expulsion of an Ambassador since WW2

The expulsion of The Iranian Ambassador and 3 other staff is the first event of this kind since World War 2.  We are also proscribing the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation.  This sudden action followed a final report from ASIO to PM Anthony Albanese of the perpetrators of the anti-Semitic Melbourne Synagogue and  Sydney Continental Deli bombings last year.

The money trail led to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Iranian Government according to ASIO Director General Mike Burgess.  Other anti-Semitic acts like the Maroubra Child Care centre bombing might also transpire to be an Iranian initiated act.

The day prior to the announcement saw Australian Embassy staff in Tehran evacuated to a third country – but how this occurred is yet to be revealed by the Government.
