Giant Australian Cuttlefish Population under threat from the Algal Bloom

Every year, off the coast of South Australia in the upper Spencer Gulf, close to Whyalla, groups of Giant Australian Cuttlefish gather to reproduce. The strip line is the only place in the world where this breeding takes place.

Nevertheless, this situation may soon alter, as the Algal bloom is becoming more severe, and researchers are worried that if the bloom encroaches upon the breeding grounds, it could severely impact the Cuttlefish population.
