Tropical fish moving south due to warm waters

Climate change is impacting our oceans through rising sea levels and coral bleaching. But it is causing tropical fish to migrate south of the ocean to cooler waters due to excessively warm ocean temperatures, according to the research by Professor Ivan Nagelkerken from the University of Adelaide, a marine biologist, and Angus Mitchell, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Marine Ecology.

While it may appear concerning that tropical fish are relocating, their research indicates that they are flourishing in their new surroundings and forming new social connections.

Razors Edge Reporter Thomas Koutis spoke to Professor Ivan Nagelkerken and Angus Mitchell to find out more about their research.
