Wine Chat: Tour of Italy – Triveneto

today we’re taking to the North East and looking at the Triveneto. The three Venetian regions of Friuli, Alto Adige and Veneto. Specifically we’re going to talking about the white wines and sparkling wines of these regions
To talk about all this and more we are joined by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee
Wine of the Week
2024, Sabi Wabi ‘Sugi’ Semillon, Hunter Valley, N.S.W.
A modern approach to Hunter Semillon, still retaining a beautiful fresh acidity but using some extended time on skins to build weight and texture. Bursting with florals and citrus on the nose this wine pairs beautifully lighter proteins or vegetarian dishes. Drink now but will happily cellar for 20 years

If you want to try out some aussie takes of wine from this region I suggest looking at the Vine Marson heritage range where they specalise in making wines reminiscant of Friuli.
There also is records of Kaesler from the Barossa valley making a Garnega but I haven’t been able to find any current release information. If you know where to purchase this wine please get in touch.
