“Convergence on Canberra” Rally Report

With the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsening, protestors from across the country gathered in Canberra on the opening day of the 48th Parliament on the 22nd July to campaign for more action from the government.
Currently thousands of Palestinians are facing starvation and while the Albanese government has signed onto an International document of condemnation, many protestors feel that there is much more that the government could do to prevent innocent deaths of civilians.
This day of protesting featured 24 speakers ranging from musicians and activists to senators Mehreen Faruqi and Fatima Payman.
Lorna from the Monday Daily team headed down to Canberra to interview protestors about why they were attending.
