500 Corroboree frogs released at Brindabella! – Del Leong at 2SER

Out of all the amazing animals we have in this country, the Corroboree frog is one of Australia’s most iconic species, yet they are also critially endangered due to rising temperature, disease and the disruption of their habitat. With only 1200 left in the wild, it’s no wonder they’re so hard to find on your average bushwalk.

However, this may finally change at Brindabella National Park as 544 frogs raised here at Taronga Zoo in Sydney were released a couple weeks ago on the 4th of July in a mayor win for conservation as a whole!

Del Leong, the herpetofauna zookeeper that raised these lovely children of nature is here with us today to talk a bit more about the specifics and what you can do to help save this wonderful species. Remember to head over and support Taronga Zoo and their many conservation programs!
