Selene and the Strange Premiere Debut Single ‘Letter to Selene’

Newly formed Eora/Sydney indie band Selene and the Strange have hit the ground running in their first year performing together. After already played staple venues such as the Metro Theatre and The Lansdowne, they have cemented their slot in the local scene with the release of their debut single ‘Letter to Selene’.
Produced by James Christowski, ‘Letter to Selene’ is a beautiful track which offers a fresh perspective on the sounds acts such as Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush. Notably, the band’s vocal stacks are beyond heavenly, led by front woman and songwriter Lydia Riccioni-Brown, perfectly complimenting the moody and mysterious instrumental. These sonic tones of mystery and fantasy are tastefully balanced through out the track, with ominous and haunting synthesizers being met with lush and textural guitars and percussion to create a unique and euphoric soundscape.
The band’s writers Lydia and Sam joined Mitch on Reverie to discuss the new single, their inspirations and the band’s plans moving forward.
