National Art School Gallery Presents The Neighbour at the Gate

The National Art School (NAS) gallery’s new art exhibition The Neighbour at the Gate features artworks exploring the connections between First Nations and Asian Communities. It unravels the impacts of previous immigrant policies, and post-frontier national identity-making upon First Nations and Asian Australian peoples.
The exhibition is curated by Clothilde Bullen OAM (Wardandi Noongar and Badimaya Yamatji), with Micheal Do and Zali Morgan (Whadjuk Balladong and Wilman Noongar) and features works from 6 Australian artists: Jacky Cheng, Elham Eshraghian-Haakansson, Dennis Golding (Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay), Jenna Mayilema Lee (Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman, KarraJarri), James Nguyen and James Tylor (Kaurna, Thura-Yura language region)
It opens during NAIDOC Week on the 11th July and runs till the 18th October 2025. NAS Gallery manager, Katrina Cashman joined Danny on 2SER Breakfast to chat about the exhibition.
