Merpire, the moniker of Melbourne-based artist Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt, writes music that exists somewhere between the rom-com and horror movie sections of the video store of her mind.

Merpire is on the cusp of releasing her new album, MILK POOL, an album that is intentionally fluid and indeterminate of age, holding a deep and pure romanticism for places and people, and how that changes with time.

With the help of true community and time to herself to explore the multi-instrumentalist she is, Merpire is ready to share what she’s found with others, starting with a visit to 2SER Breakfast for a chat and a live acoustic performance of ‘Canine’ from the new record.
