Say Hello and Goodbye to Belvedeer

Belvedeer have arrived. The four-piece post punk and post hardcore band from Eora have just released their first album, titled At Rest. Loud, heavy, abrasive, ferocious, atmospheric – these are all words you could associate with it. Listen to it now!
If you’re liking what you’re hearing, you’re in luck: Belvedeer are playing two dates in Sydney over the next two months. The first is this Saturday, 28 June, at the Sneaky Possum with support from other local bands in Milly McPherson, Vertebrae and Our Mutual Friend. The second is on 16 August at the Vanguard. Tickets are still available for both shows, get them while they’re still hot.
However, it comes with some bad news. These upcoming shows will be the final time you’ll ever get the chance to see Belvedeer, whose members are all going their own ways at the conclusion of the tour. You don’t want to realise this before it’s too late.
I (Josh from Newfangled) was joined in the studio by Ollie, Felix and Alex of Belvedeer to discuss the making of the album and their anticipation for their upcoming shows. Notwithstanding the fact that I couldn’t manage to say the names of all three members at once (Ollie, Felix and Alex – try to say it really fast three times, it’s hard), the chat was lovely. We discussed everything from influences to production to the live show, and how much we can expect to see vocalist Ollie in the crowd during the course of the gig.
