Why we all need good, safe public toilets

We’ve all been there: you’re out in town and feel the need to answer nature’s call, only to find there are no decent public toilets nearby.
For most people, this is a minor inconvenience that means you might have to spend a few dollars in a shop or cafe to use their bathroom.
But for people experiencing homelessness, this can be a serious issue, affecting their dignity and safety.
The NSW Government is holding an inquiry into public toilets in the state, and advocates with lived experience of homelessness are calling for improvements.
Rocky from the advisory group StreetCare, and Alannah from the Justice and Equity Centre joined 2SER Breakfast to discuss.
