Film: Universal Language

Set in a world in which Persian, instead of English, is the dominant language in Canada, Universal Language is a comedy-drama film that blends three initially unrelated, but slowly converging stories of four different people in Winnipeg. The story is described as “surreal comedy of disorientation” set “somewhere between Tehran and Winnipeg”.

Series: Silo Season 2

Based on the Silo trillogy of novels by Hugh Howey, this science fiction dystopia series revolves around a community existing in a giant silo that extends 144 levels underground. It follows Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) an engineer on the silo’s lower levels as she becomes embroiled in mysteries of both the past and present.

Series: We Were The Lucky Ones

We Were The Lucky Ones follows a Jewish family who are separated from each other following World War II. According to the synopsis, the show “demonstrates how in the face of the twentieth century’s darkest moment, the human spirit can endure and even thrive”

Album: Hunting Season – Home Is Where

The second album from Florida based independent emo group Home Is Where may be their most accomplished album yet. Combining folk rock and emo rock influences, the album has interesting lyrics and high-energy songs that will get stuck in your head.
