Tom Gleisner’s Bloom plays at the Sydney Theatre Company

There are some people in this world that can turn things into gold, such as this guest that joined Danny in the studio on breakfast show.

Co-creator of The Castle and The Dish, writer, producer and director of Frontline, writer and director of All Aussie Adventures, the current producer of The Cheap Seats, and host of Have You Been Paying Attention, Tom Gleisner is an Australian icon. Now he brings a new theatre production, Bloom, to Sydney, and with a resume like that you know it’s going to be good!

Bloom is a new a cheeky, heartwarming and cross-generational musical that will have you dancing in the aisles and crying with laughter. The ambitious and greedy owner of Pine Grove Aged Care, Mrs MacIntyre (Whelan Browne), thinks she’s struck gold when she comes up with a brilliant plan to cut costs: offering free room and board to uni students in exchange for unofficial shifts as care workers. But the arrival of Finn Bailey (Sudiro), a layabout twenty-something with a heart of gold, throws her plan into disarray.

Playing at the Sydney Theatre Company from the 28th March – 11th May, Bloom is directed by Dean Bryant, and created by Tom Gleisner, who spent some time with Danny Chifley on the Breakfast Show.
